Position Information:

Position Objective
The Training Specialist is responsible for the delivery of training to American Family's employees, managers and independent sales force, resulting in a workforce capable of maintaining a competitive advantage in the insurance industry. Works closely with internal and external business partners to ensure that training is aligned with desired performance outcomes.
Primary Accountabilities
- Instructional Delivery (50%)
- Provides a learning environment that fosters effective adult learning opportunities and supports the desired performance outcomes.
- Facilitates and delivers classroom and distance training to American Family`s employees, managers and independent sales force.
- Continually monitors instructional delivery best practices and learner assessments, and adjusts techniques or recommends changes when appropriate.
- Maintains the integrity of the overall compliance and regulatory aspects of classroom training.
- Instructional Delivery Preparation & Administration (20%)
- Follows through on tasks needed to complete and close out training sessions, such as classroom takedown, resetting data in training environments, and follow up on post learner activities.
- Ensures any class pre-work or post-work activities are identified, distributed and reviewed in a timely manner.
- Schedules training sessions and ensures training programs are aligned with corporate and regional needs.
- Training Quality Assurance (15%)
- Works collaboratively with Talent Development and Delivery staff on the development and design of learning solutions, and supports a seamless knowledge transfer and integration between development and delivery.
- Assists with the development of learning programs and resources when needed.
- Participates in quality checks and train-the-trainer sessions to provide feedback and input on the effectiveness and usability of the training materials and programs.
- Evaluates learner assessments to ensure delivered skills are meeting learner needs and desired performance outcomes.
- Supports the compliance and legal discovery process as requested.
- Relationship Management (15%)
- Cultivates relationships with internal client groups, including sales management, claims, and other divisional stakeholders.
- Maintains the level of subject matter expertise needed to provide correct information and accurately answer questions from learners and business partners.
- Keeps current on industry trends and best practices and uses that knowledge to enhance the learning experience for participants.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Basic knowledge and understanding of education methodologies (e.g., 4MAT, Performance Based Learning, or Human Performance Improvement).
- Demonstrated experience presenting information to a wide array of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience with adult learning principles or demonstrated experience within the specific training disciplines.
Travel Requirements
- This position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
